TikTok Partners with Vimeo – And It’s a Win for Small Businesses

Are you the owner of a small business looking to leverage the power of the trendiest social media platforms? If so, you’ll want to check out TikTok’s latest initiative, a new partnership with Vimeo meant to support content creation and distribution from small business advertisers.

It seems TikTok is trying to replicate the success strategy of the current dominant social media platform, Facebook. As of the end of 2020, Facebook has reported it has 10 million active advertisers utilizing its platform to promote products and services, the majority being small businesses. This is an increase from just 7 million at the beginning of the previous year.

By integrating video tools with Vimeo, TikTok seeks to make it easier for advertisers to quickly and consistently churn out quality videos without the need of technical video production expertise or expensive production resources.

What You Need to Know About the New TikTok / Vimeo Partnership JXT Group

The new feature is called Vimeo Create and it has recently been launched in the TikTok Ad Manager. This feature has been designed to help small-to-medium-sized businesses to create video content while minimizing production costs and time. Vimeo now has the distinction of being the first TikTok partner to be placed in a special “Creative Tools” subcategory within the platform’s partnership program.

Vimeo Create utilizes AI technology to help businesses produce lots of video content and publish directly to TikTok. In order to stay top of mind with audiences, TikTok recommends that users post engaging, organic video content on a frequent basis.

Some of the most successful influencers on TikTok, such as Charli D’Amelio, are known to post as much as 10 times a day. TikTok’s algorithm is perceived to keep pushing an account’s content over time, and the more content you produce, the more likely at least one of your videos will go viral.

With the move to entice more small business advertisers to engage on the platform, TikTok is setting itself up as a serious rival to platforms such as Instagram or Snapchat.

TikTok Marketing Essentials for Small Businesses JXT Group

If you want to help your small business to succeed on TikTok, here are some recommended tips to try:

  • Cross-Promotions – make a point to let people on TikTok know where else they can find you online. For example, you could mention another of your social media accounts in your profile or at the end of a new video. One useful strategy is to run a special time-limited campaign / promotion on just one social media platform and drive the rest of your traffic there.
  • Good Lighting – although TikTok users appreciate videos that look authentic, you still want to look professional. Make sure you have enough lighting on your face so that you are easily seen. Good quality can increase overall engagement time.
  • Trending Sounds – different sounds are known to trend on TikTok, and if your video uses one, you’re more likely to be shown on people’s “For You Page”. You can search trending sounds and songs in TikTok’s playlists to find the perfect soundtrack for your next video.
  • Be Relatable  although you’re creating videos for your brand, you don’t want your content to feel like an ad. One of the best ways to avoid seeming salesy is to be relatable in your content. Be someone your audience can’t wait to hear from because they appreciate who you are, what you stand for, and the value you share in your content.
  • Engage, Engage, Engage – TikTok is not just some kind of billboard for your videos. When you do social media right it is a truly social experience – so you want to not only put out content, but use the platform to build connection and relationships. When people respond and comment to your content, be sure to engage.
